We will create illustrations that show the difference between the literal and figurative meanings of popular sayings and phrases.
We will create rotational mosaics using clay and beads.
We will create paper mosaics showing one line symmetry in the arabesque style.
We will create a design for a building that showcases the elements of architecture we focus on.
Our essential questions for this unit are:
Why are illustrations important to a story? Do we need them?

Why do architects choose to decorate buildings? Does it make a building better?
