I can label a map and create a take home portfolio.
Students today had WAY too much fun creating their take home boxes! They loved designing and then coloring the boxes to put all of their Middle Ages inspired art treasures inside! We also worked on labeling the continent of Africa. It is always interesting talking to students about Africa because they don't understanding how large it is and can't name 2 countries (there are over 60!). I love seeing how they start to develop a deeper understanding for such a large, diverse, vibrant place. Next time we will take our notes and work on starting our "mud cloths". Vocabulary words for the Art of Africa unit Bust- a sculpture of the head and shoulders of a person Ivory- The tusk of an elephant used in some African art Pigment- Matter used to color something Apprenticeship- A period of a persons life spent learning a craft or trade from an expert ![]()
