Today students talked about Thomas Jefferson's Monticello.
We compared and contrasted his initial sketch of Monticello, read an article about the architecture he was inspired by and went on a scavenger hunt through Monticello. If your student was absent they need to print out the page "Initial view" and compare it to a current photo of Monticello. They will also need to read this guide: http://www.monticello.org/sites/default/files/inline-pdfs/exploring_monticello_0.pdf Objective: I can create and identify works of art inspired by early America.
