Objective: Students will be able to complete and identify ancient Chinese works of art. Activity: vocabulary sheet, presentation on the art of ancient China focusing on calligraphy Assessment: Completing the vocab. worksheet. Students need to write the vocabulary word, the definition, draw a picture and write a sentence for each word if they were absent. Students will also need to look at the first 8 slides of the presentation. Scroll: A long roll of illustrated paper or silk Calligraphy: Elegant, artistic writing usually made with a brush Porcelain: Objects made out of white clay that when fired are hard, thing and waterproof. Mrs. Rafferty is coming to visit us for the next few weeks and will be teaching social skills! Today we talked about looking at things from different perspectives and how even if someone has a different perspective it doesn't make anyone wrong. We are also taking a test on the art of Africa today (study guide on last week's blog post) and working on our google doodles which need to be finished, signed and returned by Monday! If I could invent one thing to make the world a better place...
Student's are using their creativity to develop google doodles this week! They are answering a writing prompt, doing a rough draft of their invention and then creating their google doodle! They are incredible! https://www.google.com/doodle4google/ We will have a test on Africa on Thursday. Objective: Students will be able to identify and create examples of African art. Activity: Students will be able to complete a review for their test on the art of Africa using the resources in their personal portfolios. Objective: students will be able to create and identify traditional African art from multiple cultures. Activity: Students will be able to create a symmetrical mask using 4 or more paper sculpture techniques. Assessment: effort, completion, neatness, textures and techniques. Objective: Students will be able to create and identify works of African art.
Activity: Students will learn about different paper techniques to be able to create a symmetrical mask. They learned curling, fringe, spiral cut, accordion fold and techniques for symmetrically cutting out paper. Assessment: Completion and effort. |
