This week we will learn paper sculpting techniques!
We will create a relief by using accordion folds, zipper fold, fringe and curling. Next week we will add to our sculptures. We will also see what happens when you add dye and salt to ice by creating a temporary sculpture. I can review different types of lines that repeat! This is challenging but preparing me for cursive!
I can work with my team to create a creative sculpture out of pipe cleaners, yarn and tin foil.
We looked at "The Thinker" and "The Discus Thrower" I can create a horse by using different clay techniques. I can roll out a coil and attach clay to clay by scoring it.
If I do a good job scoring my clay my horses head and legs will not fall off. We looked at the sculpture "Flying Horse" from the Han Dynasty in China. I can create a valentine design and color with many colors using markers.
I can create a submission for the winter card contest.
Students learned to draw a pine tree. They were then able to add to the tree to create a drawing for a winter card design. We will try to finish these next week! |
