Students learned about abstract, semi-abstract and realistic this week.
We looked at multiple pieces of art including Paul Klee's "Cat and Bird" and Albrecht Durer's "Hare". We created an example of a realistic cat drawing and an abstract cat as well. We will be talking about abstract and non-objective art for the next few weeks! We will learn to cut a spiral, make a bridge, cut out a double and then add our own ideas to our paper relief sculptures!
This week we will learn paper sculpting techniques!
We will create a relief by using accordion folds, zipper fold, fringe and curling. Next week we will add to our sculptures. We will also see what happens when you add dye and salt to ice by creating a temporary sculpture. |
