While some students work on their winter cards, the other students are creating a print of their wild thing! They get to use a brayer and printing ink to create a white and green print.

I can finish my printing plate and make a winter card design.
Kids needed to finish their printing plates today and then start on a winter card design for the holiday card contest. They needed to draw a landscape. I can turn my drawing into a printing plate.
Students will take their simple line drawings and then start tracing their lines onto a piece of styrofoam with pen. The kids are creating printing plates for a printmaking project! I can draw a wild thing it its habitat.
We read the book "Where the Wild Things Are" and then created our own wild things! Kids then drew the wild thing in its habitat. They needed to include foreground, middleground and background and then show overlapping like in the book. I can identify foreground, middle ground and background.
Today kiddos looked at the painting "The Gleaners" which has great examples of foreground, middle ground and background. The kids will be working on landscapes for the next few weeks. "I can draw and shade forms"
Today students were looking, drawing and shading! It was an exciting day to look at the forms in front of us and begin to draw the values that we saw! Awesome job! "I can draw forms"
Today we learned about height, width and depth while we drew cubes, pyramids, cylinders, cones and rectangular prisms. "I can do texture rubbings and make a cube!"
We have been drawing cubes in 3rd grade and are going to create a cube today! We will do texture rubbings and then cut, fold and glue together a cube! "I can follow direction and carefully color"k
These two things are proving to be really hard for 3rd graders! We are working on following directions to draw an elephant and taking a coloring test- students should be outlining first and then coloring slowly so that they can have neat and complete 3rd grade work! "I can make a dot!"
September 15th is dot day! Students will be listening to the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds and then creating their own dot for our dot day mural! |
